US TROOPS OUT!!! Join us Feb. 4th 11am @ union square SF.
Protest against U.S. Military build-up in the Philippines, Korea and entire Asia-Pacific region, then join the “No War on Iran” march at Powell/Market Streets.

As the U.S. steps up its war propaganda against Iran, it has announced a renewed commitment to build up its military presence in the Asia-Pacific region, in particular the Philippines, Korea and Australia. On Jan. 19, the Washington post released an article about the U.S. and the Aquino government talks of broadening U.S. military operations in the Philippines. This is clearly part of the U.S. government’s attempt to maintain its domination over the region’s economic sphere and contain its biggest economic rival—China—but at the expense of the people of the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific, who bear the cost of these “war games” in environmental destruction, violence against women and children, increased prostitution, human rights violations against civiliams, and loss of national sovereignty.

This Feb. 4, on the 113th anniversary of the start of the Philippine-American war of 1899, BAYAN-USA calls on the community to come and join us in front of the Adm. Dewey statue in Union Square, San Francisco to protest the US government’s violent domination of our homeland and Philippine President Benigno Aquino III’s continued puppetry to the US government’s hegemonic schemes. We will then be marching to merge with the bigger action in solidarity with the people of Iran.
